The project focuses on the rehabilitation and reuse of a part of the former psychiatric hospital complex in Udine, specifically the abandoned and disused Director's House, as part of a university course in sustainable architecture with the involvement of multiple professors generating a and parallel exploration across disciplines of reuse, restoration and building physics
The result is a dual presentation and representation of the same project with a technical evaluation. The proposal aims to restore and repurpose the Director's House into a library and a historical archive dedicated to the entire complex's history. Additionally, the plan includes the construction of a new external pavilion to serve as a welcome structure and infopoint for the entire complex, which is part of a broader redevelopment plan.
